Creative collaborative projects in response to desert drylands will take place over the next five years.
2025: On-Site Tools for Geographical Study
During the 2025 project, collaborators used art kits made to explore their environment using specific lens that isolates perspective, allowing for a keen representation and clear observation of what is in front of them.
2026: Desert Pigments Transformed to Ink
Looking forward to Project 2026, collaborators will transform collected desert plant matter into ink to create visual representations. The pigments examined will include ground litter collected by scientists and invasive species such as mistletoe previously collected by artists in 2025.
